These desserts were perfect for this fun, co-ed shower!
Red velvet cake, carrot cupcakes (YUM!), chocolate and vanilla cake pops and chocolate-covered Oreos.
Drink up me hearties, yo ho.
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!
I can’t help but sing that song every time I think about this cake. So, in other words it’s about time that I stop thinking about this cake. Yo ho!
Arrrgggghhh, she’s modeled after the Black Pearl and she’s for the cutest little one yeaaaarrrr old boy I know.
When my friend for asked me for this cake, I said.. how about just a normal cake with a ship on top? To which she said.. no…a pirate ship cake. And she sent me directions on how to do it. Ha!
Shaped cakes are always so intimidating…until they’re not.
Here’s some behind the scenes. Please excuse any phallic references you may see throughout the process. Ha, it just kills me.
And then? Ta-da!
Shiver me timberrrrs!
There’s something in the water. I have done so many gender reveal and baby shower cakes lately!
This little baby bum is too cute AND this cake gave me the opportunity to use a new letter/number mold I got. I love how pretty these letters turned out!
I love all the detail that went into this cake! The couple does not know the gender…hence the absence of pink or blue… I love it!
I make a lot of cakes… but I don’t make a lot of shaped cakes. So I always get a little nervous when a request comes in for a shaped cake. You want me to make what?! A house…
But, the internet saves the day again. I watched a couple of YouTube videos, and all of a sudden a house cake doesn’t seem so bad.
Behind the scenes:
A house cake could be a time suck… can you just imagine all the cool details you can put into the cake? Just like being a homeowner!
